Ghibran Biography

Ghibran Education

He did well on the music theory and piano parts of the Trinity College London RSA 8 tests. He took classes with Australian composer Lindsay Vickery at Singapore’s LASALLE College of the Arts, where he learned both classical music and cinema scoring. An animation studio requested him to work with them, and he accepted the position of in-house composer. When he started his own business in the year 2000, he had already made more than 750 commercials.

Ghibran Early Life

This is where Ghibran grew up. When he was in the ninth grade, his family moved to Chennai since his father had lost a lot of money. He put off finishing college so he could work to provide for his family. Ghibran says that he became interested in music for the first time when he was eight or ten and heard Yanni perform on TV. He first sought to enrol into a music school, but money concerns caused him to quit out. Then he started taking piano lessons from Paul Augustine and practising on his own.

He received his RSA Grade 8 in piano and music theory from Trinity College in London. At LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore, he studied classical composition and film scores with Australian composer Lindsay Vickery. As an internal composer for animations, he was awarded a two-year contract. In the year 2000, he built his own recording studio where he made 750 advertisements.

He gained more money by writing music for several media sites in Singapore. After he graduated, he got a job with the Singapore Wood and Percussion Instruments Orchestra. When he returned back to India, he didn’t find a lot of advertising positions waiting for him.

Ghibran Career

He has since composed the scores for numerous Tamil and Telugu films. His debut film score was 2011’s Vaagai Sooda Va, a Tamil film. Run Raja Run, a Telugu movie, was his first movie. Ghibran got a lot of attention when Kamal Haasan gave him the chance to direct the expensive movie Vishwaroopam II. Haasan granted Ghibran the opportunity to direct Papanasam and Uttama Villain because he was impressed by the director’s previous work.

Ghibran wrote the original music for the movies Vatthikuchi, Kutti Puli, and Naiyaandi, which came released in 2013. Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah and Amara Kaaviyam were two of the works he produced that year. Run Raja Run, his debut movie, was likewise a tremendous blockbuster in the Telugu language. Behindwoods.com says that people liked what he did for the movie and that the soundtrack’s hits stayed at the top of the charts for a long time. Kamal Haasan went to him to ask him to write the music for Vishwaroopam II, Uttama Villain, and Papanasam, the Tamil version of Drishyam.

For his current recordings, Ghibran commutes between his studios in Chennai, Mumbai, and Singapore.
