He has won four SIIMA awards and one Filmfare award. It was in the 1993 Telugu film Bava Bavamaridi when Mohan, Ravi’s father and a film editor himself, gave him his first break in the acting world.

He continued to collaborate with his sibling after M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi, making films such as Unakkum Enaikkum (2006), Santhosh Subramaniam (2008), Thillalangadi (2010), and Thani Oruvan (2012). (2010). Jayam Ravi was born on September 10, 1980, in the city of Thirumangalam, Tamil Nadu, India. His parents are Mohan and Varalakshmi Mohan; Mohan is also known as Mohammed Jinnah Abdul Khader. His father is a Muslim, while his mother is Hindu. His older brother Mohan Raja was a director, and his sister Roja is a dentist.
