Suriya Sivakumar, a popular Kollywood actor, was born on July 23, 1975, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to actor Palaniswamy or Sivakumar. At the age of 22, the now-age 46-year-old actor made his film debut in producer Mani Ratnam’s 1997 action movie Nerrukku Ner. The movie was a commercial triumph, and Suriya co-starred with Vijay, who had already established himself as a popular actor among Tamil moviegoers thanks to the smash romantic comedy Poove Unakkaga, Saravanan Sivakumar is Suriya’s full name, but the producer Mani Ratnam gave him the stage name. After experiencing success with his first movie, the actor thereafter battled to have box office success until his big-budget action thriller Kaakha Kaakha, which debuted in 2003.
The Ghajini actor founded his own production company, 2D Entertainment, in 2013. This company has created numerous critically acclaimed films, including 24, Soorarai Pottru, and most recently, Jai Bhim. Oh My Dog, directed by Sarov Shanmugam, and Viruman, starring Karthi, Suriya’s younger brother, are two movies that the production company has in development.
